Job Title: Corporate Affairs Manager
We are recruiting for a Corporate Affairs Manager (Qualified Accountant) to join Water Safety Ireland in Galway.
About the Role:
This is a new position reflecting the increased workload in WSI, requiring the establishment of a Corporate Affairs Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership of WSIs financial affairs, developing and recommending budget and financial planning strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and recommend budget and financial planning strategies.
* Prepare and manage WSI annual budget.
* Prepare annual accounts in accordance with DPENDR circulars and FRS 102.
* Ensure compliance with Comptroller and Auditor General requirements and Internal Audit.
* Review all WSI related financial accounts for cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency.
Main Duties:
* Provide regular analysis of expenditure to the CEO and key stakeholders.
* Develop and implement corporate affairs strategies aligned with WSIs strategic goals.
* Identify, manage, and resolve operational issues across business units.
* Evaluate, improve, and streamline business processes using data.
* Act as main point of contact for corporate affairs matters.
Working Relationships:
* Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with CEO and Deputy CEO on corporate and business plans.
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years PQE (ACA, ACCA).
* Experience working in public sector financial environment desirable.
* Knowledge of public financial procedures or ability to quickly gain knowledge.
* Previous experience presenting/reporting to Board/Council level.
* Project management skills with ability to work under pressure.
Work Arrangement:
This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 2 days per week spent in the office.
