Job Title: Scheme Coordinator
About the Role
Your new company The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association, to recruit a Scheme Coordinator on a temporary contract basis for a period of six months to work within a sheltered housing scheme.
You will provide an enhanced housing management service to independent living tenants, ensuring the highest standards of customer service under the guidance of the Area Housing Officer.
This role includes:
* Engaging with tenants, responding to their support needs in a timely and effective manner;
* Collaborating with partnering agencies and stakeholders to deliver key services, including GPs, social workers, relatives, and/or next of kin;
* Managing emergency situations appropriately, seeking advice from the Housing Officer as needed;
* Supporting tenants to participate in activities, such as lunch clubs and coffee mornings;
* Delivering evening events to increase social interaction amongst tenants;
* Supporting new tenants during the sign-up process;
* Ensuring rent is collected and lodged accordingly;
* Carrying out and reviewing risk assessments, reporting any building repairs or defects, and overseeing contractors;
* Assisting tenants with managing their finances, including budgeting and household bills.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
* A good understanding of what great customer experience looks like;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive and important information;
* The ability to balance several ongoing tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and empathy;
* Initiative, responsibility, and the ability to deal with difficult and challenging situations;
* The capacity to supervise staff and liaise with contractors to ensure high standards are met.
In addition, you will have a practical understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality, and support planning, as well as the ability to collaborate with community groups and statutory agencies.
