Account's Assistant
Seerys is a family run Bakery based in Tinryland, Co Carlow producing quality cakes and Christmas puddings for a number of Ireland, UK and Europe’s top retailers. A custom-built factory operates on 2 acres which makes Seerys one of Ireland’s leading bakeries. The current products range from fruited cakes to tea bracks and Madeira cakes.
The Accounts assistant will report to the Financial Controller and will be based in Graiguecullen, Co. Carlow. This is a permanent contract working a 39 hour per week.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities (General):
1. Management of Debtors ledger – preparation of sales invoices, credit control reports and cash allocations
2. Management of Creditors ledger – processing supplier invoices, preparation of payments, reconciliation of supplier statements
3. Management of Nominal ledger – vat, fixed assets, prepayments and accruals
4. Assisting in the preparation of VAT and VIES returns
5. Assist in the month-end processes to include Bank and Credit Card reconciliations
6. Aid in preparation of weekly working capital schedules
7. Use of computerised accounting systems
8. Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
9. Ensuring bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
10. Reconciling and allocation of direct debits and incoming payments through the bank
11. Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
12. Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
13. Provide administrative support to the accounts team across the different functions
14. Maintain confidentiality of accounts information and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
15. Ensure audit compliance
16. Ad hoc duties as required by the business
Required profile:

1. Minimum of two years experience in similar role
2. Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel)
3. Good communication and teamwork skills
4. Good analytical mindset with attention to detail
5. Able to understand the wider business context
6. Ability to work to tight deadlines
