The Mission of Beacon Hospital is to provide quality patient care in an environment that is respectful, compassionate, and caring.
Beacon HealthCheck is a premium health screening programme for executives and individuals. The success of HealthCheck will require the successful candidate to have the level of customer service skills to give evidence-based recommendations and satisfy a clientele that have huge expectations.
The successful candidate will be accountable for activities relating to the programme including patient care and business development. The post holder is expected to play a significant role in service development so that the Hospital's Executive Screening programme is well positioned in the marketplace and reflects "Modern Medicine".
To provide competent patient-centred care that addresses health needs and promotes wellness. Such care will be based on evidence-based guidelines and meets legislator requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
1. Work autonomously in providing specialist skilled assessment, diagnosis, advice, and management to clients that attend HealthCheck.
2. Order diagnostic tests as needed and follow up with the results in a timely fashion.
3. Communicate, liaise and refer to GPs, relevant consultants, and/or departments to provide follow-up and/or specialist care for further management of conditions diagnosed during HealthCheck.
4. Maintain clients/patients' privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times as per hospital policy.
Business and Service Development
1. Continuously work with Executive Management, Clinical Operations, and Marketing to promote the service.
2. Undertake speaking engagements and presentations as required.
3. Work with the team to increase sales.
4. Know and understand the market for Executive Screening and latest developments.
5. Work collaboratively with marketing and senior management to develop and promote HealthCheck to clients and businesses.
Quality
1. To protect and enhance the reputation of Beacon Hospital.
2. To implement quality standards ensuring the provision of quality service.
3. To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices in a safe working environment.
4. To participate in Hospital Quality Improvement and Risk Management Initiatives, including audits related to HealthCheck and JCI accreditation.
5. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.
Education and Patient Information
1. Develop and implement education and information pertinent to the materials and programmes for lifestyle changes based on evidence-based practice.
2. Document all care provided and education and/or information given to patients/clients.
Practice Management and Clinical Leadership
1. Work collaboratively with the HealthCheck clinical and administration team to ensure patients/clients receive optimal care.
2. Maintain professional knowledge and standards through continuing medical education and personal and professional development.
3. Participate in annual performance appraisal and set goals for the coming year.
4. Have a working knowledge of legislation affecting medical practice.
Complaint Management and Service Recovery
1. Effective management of clinical complaints that may arise through HealthCheck.
2. Consult with Chief of Staff/Medical Director for guidance and support.
3. Have up-to-date BLS.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MRCPI, MICGP or equivalent.
* Irish Medical Council Registration Certificate.
* Membership of relevant college is desirable.
Experience
* At least two years' experience as a General Practitioner.
Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* BLS.
* Capable of promoting the service.
* All posts in Beacon Hospital require a high level of flexibility to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient service. Therefore, the post holder will be required to demonstrate flexibility as and when required by their manager or hospital management.
