Programme Assistant - Camphill Callan/Slievenamon Day Service
Camphill Community is seeking a highly motivated Programme Assistant to join our team.
Job Purpose:
To support the service in developing and fostering a person-centered culture, aiming to achieve high-quality personal outcomes, development, growth, and opportunities within the ethos of CCoI and regulatory requirements.
To assist in inclusive programmes, training, and social role opportunities for participants by supporting people with support needs, volunteers, employees, and community partners. Enable meaningful work, training, and personal development opportunities according to individual ability, choice, and vocational interests.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand Camphill Communities of Ireland's values and ethos, upholding them at all times.
2. Promote and apply safeguarding and protection practices associated with company and HSE/statutory requirements.
3. Contribute to establishing policies, systems, and practices for providing the best standard of care and support, complying with legislation, policies, and best practice.
4. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS:
* Develop trust and confidence with adults with support needs, coworkers, employees, and volunteers.
5. Main Tasks:
* Plan and develop work programs for people with support needs, guiding and motivating them as they work.
* Create a positive working environment, enabling each worker to benefit from their time in the program.
* Support individuals in their work, supervising tasks when necessary, and reviewing progress in conjunction with social care coordinators and other supporters.
* Assist in maintaining health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and equipment maintenance.
* Organize and supervise tea breaks, ensuring all documentation required for the program is complete.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
Candidates must have:
* QQI Level 5 Major Award in Community/Healthcare
* At least 1 year's experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities/autism
* Experience running programs for adults with intellectual disabilities/autism
* Understanding of the New Directions model of day support services
* Ability to contribute towards supporting, coaching, managing, motivating, and developing a mixed workforce of volunteers and employees
* Full driver's license (required to drive a vehicle with up to 8 passenger seats and up to 3,500kg)

Salary Scale: €30,272 to €36,026 Per annum (based on a 40 hour week) Pro rata
Location: Callan / Slievenamon Day Service, Moat Lane, Lower Bridge St. Callan, Co. Kilkenny R95 D9N3
Contract: Permanent - 20 hours per week
