Job Description
The Governance Support will be responsible for assisting the Project and Programme Management Lead in the development and implementation of a reporting structure for the governance requirements of the project, ensuring that it is applied across all contracts and in line with major project governance arrangements. The role holder will be required to liaise with the wider client organisation to ensure governance processes are in compliance with their own governance requirements and where changes are required shall work with the client to ensure these are implemented within the project and applied to project governance arrangements.
The Governance Support will be required to possess the following skills:
1. Good influencing skills to manage and motivate teams in support of delivery of high risk, value and complex project and programmes
2. Ability to coordinate and organize multiple sources of reporting inputs / performance data and deliver project / programme reports as required
3. An ability to work effectively in a team environment
4. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service
Qualifications
1. 1 to 5 years' experience in governance activities and a proven track record of conducting governance activities in high value metro rail projects or projects of a similar scale / complexity.
2. A Level 8 recognised and relevant university degree
Additional requirements:
1. Tangible experience of driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards
2. In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural / engineering / construction sectors
3. Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
4. Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector
