It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority ("NewERA"), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.

Role Summary / Principal Accountabilities The role will have a high level of investment exposure from the outset.
When ISIF closes an investment, the monitoring of the investment transitions from the ISIF deal team to the Irish Portfolio Monitoring team.
The successful candidate will be assigned a portfolio of Irish investments and will be expected to monitor the economic and financial performance of each investment.
These investments will range across sectors such as real estate, enabling infrastructure, food and agri, technology and life sciences sectors.
Investments are normally made either directly to the company (debt and/or equity) or through a fund structure.
The Investment Analyst's role is to work collaboratively within the Irish Portfolio Monitoring team and also among the wider ISIF deal team.
Activities will include: The review and analysis of investee reports for each investment as received.
Being responsible for the creation and presentation of the annual review paper for each investment.
Conducting company and industry research as required Conducting financial statement analysis and assisting in the preparation of valuations for equity investments Attending investee company meetings as required Building effective relationships with wider ISIF team, NTMA support departments (legal, risk and compliance), Investee companies and co-investors as required.
All members of the ISIF team are required to remain flexible to respond to the dynamic nature of the ISIF mandate - this may require team members to apply their skills to other types of investment, outside of their core areas of responsibility, from time to time.
Knowledge The ideal candidate will: Have a relevant third level qualification Be a Chartered Financial Analyst or be progressing towards either CFA qualification or accountancy qualification Demonstrate a keen and well informed interest in investment and in developing knowledge and expertise.
Desired Experience ?
Minimum 2 years' experience in private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, commercial/corporate banking, accountancy or similar environment ?
Experience working in finance and/or portfolio monitoring ?
Knowledge of data analytics Skills ?
High level problem solving and financial analytical skills ?
Strong proven commercial acumen and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail ?
Excel modelling skills ?
A strong communicator, both in writing and verbally ?
Flexible and considerate team player ?
Good range of interpersonal skills Pension Abatement If an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and that appointee is entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service or where a Civil/Public Service pension comes into payment during the appointee's re-employment that pension will be subject to abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and other Provisions) Act 2012.
