Shift: Weekend Shift (3x 12 hour days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday). 3 additional hours can also be made up on Friday or Monday to make up 39 hours.
Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to the profitability, continuity, and growth of Hollister Inc, by assisting in the continued development and support of the manufacturing processes in the Ballina plant. The main focus of this position will be to work under the guidance of the Electrical/Controls Engineer in the area of design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the electrical & control systems in the plant.
Responsibilities:
* Provide specialized technical support in the day-to-day operation of the assigned manufacturing processes, specifically supporting various control systems and troubleshooting problems encountered in the daily operation of the equipment.
* Identify and implement areas of process improvement in line with Lean TPI initiatives, leading small teams in achieving these improvements and providing relevant specialized support for the implementation of machine upgrades performed by Project Engineering.
* Coordinate with Project Engineering to support the implementation of new manufacturing equipment, specifically in the area of Electrical and Controls.
* Support the introduction of new products in the assigned area.
* Provide and receive necessary training to perform required responsibilities.
* Provide technical support to maintenance staff to ensure that equipment is properly maintained from a controls perspective.
* Ensure design & implementation of any process change is in compliance with safety standards.
* Ensure any work performed adheres to the environmental standards subscribed to by the plant (ISO 14001).
Qualifications:
Academic/Credentials/Certifications:
Fully qualified Electrician and/or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Length of experience:
Minimum 4 years experience working in a Controls/PLC manufacturing environment.
Specialized skills/technical knowledge:
* Solid understanding of PLC systems and programming.
* Networking of computers and machines.
* Pneumatic systems and schematics.
* Electrical drawings / CAD.
* Vision systems.
