Job Description:
OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:
* Support of Test Engineering functions in a high volume production environment.
* Maximize throughput with minimum downtime.
* Failure analysis of fallout & drive line improvements.
* Develop key Test Engineering procedures and models.
* Develop the technical expertise of the test engineering group associated with specific products.
* Represent the test engineering department during customer visits/presentations.
* Debug test related issues and ensure stability of all tests.
* Work on cross-site & cross function projects.
* Documentation related to test issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Support New Product Introduction.
* Provide DFT input to customers.
* Produce capacity plans for test equipment.
* Liaise with equipment suppliers and perform machine acceptance tests.
* Specify, install and support production test equipment, including training of relevant personnel.
* Ensure that accurate Yields are available for test processes - drive continuous improvement of these processes through failure analysis and other tools (Adaptor Monitoring & FTTR).
* Ensure work practices, procedures and equipment adheres to audit requirements.
* Enhance maintenance techniques to minimize machine/process downtime.
* Evaluate equipment technology advances to improve quality and efficiency & capability.
* Liaise with other departments on machine/process operation, safety and environment.
* Attend customer visits and present on test approach and improvements.
* Maintenance procedures and methods and reviews of Spares database.
Quality:
* Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
Health & Safety:
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.
MEASUREMENTS:
* Completion of tasks/projects.
* Measurement of process in terms of uptime, audits & Customer targets.
* Performance improvements in the test process.
* Development of procedures.
* Training plan available for all members of dept.
* Completion of in house training programs.
* Maintaining appropriate spares levels with particular attention to critical items.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
* NFQ Level 7 Degree / Diploma in Engineering or a lesser qualification with sufficient job related experience.
* Communication skills, working in a team environment.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Knowledge of analog and Digital electronics.
* Ability to work under own initiative.
* Knowledge of ICT and Functional test equipment and processes.
* Good problem solving technique.
DESIRABLE:
* Test Development background.
* Familiarity with the requirements of manufacture/testing in a medical (FDA) environment.
