Our client is actively hiring a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to oversee the electrical aspects of specific construction initiatives. The role involves managing technical design, coordinating on-site installations, and ensuring seamless commissioning. Tasks will be defined collaboratively with the Project Manager throughout the project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed reviews of electrical designs to pinpoint any gaps or inconsistencies in the specifications.
* Verify cable and containment sizing, offering recommendations where needed.
* Prepare and submit electrical technical documentation for approval.
* Identify and propose opportunities for value engineering.
* Oversee submittal processes, monitor procurement, track delivery timelines, and verify receipt of electrical components upon arrival.
* Collaborate with the CAD/BIM team to ensure models adhere to M&E coordination plans for the project.
* Evaluate the feasibility of electrical installations to confirm they meet design specifications and allow sufficient space for maintenance and operation.
* Coordinate with design teams and suppliers to ensure plant systems function properly upon commissioning and handover.
* Perform walk-down inspections of electrical systems to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.
* Compile test documentation, FTOPs, and O&M manuals for approval.
* Supervise specialist vendors during commissioning to ensure timely delivery of their tasks.
* Provide technical reviews of tender submissions as needed.
* Support and guide junior and graduate engineers.
* Conduct client training based on established training protocols.
* Uphold exceptional quality standards in line with ISO 9001:2015 and the company’s quality management system.
Key Skills:
* A minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
* A relevant third-level qualification in electrical engineering is essential (an electrical trade background would be a plus).
* Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit or Navisworks is advantageous.
* Proven skills in planning, organization, teamwork, training, problem-solving, and presentation.
* Excellent proficiency in IT, numeracy, and literacy, including strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
