Objective:
The principal objective of the post is to participate in the development, direction, teaching, facilitation and examinations of the undergraduate teaching program. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in a growing clinical and translational research program in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (ENT).

Contract:
This appointment is available for a period of one year initially, renewable to a maximum of two further years subject to satisfactory performance.
Salary: €45,000 per annum for Clinical Tutor or €55,000 per annum for Clinical. Level of appointment will depend on the successful candidates' previous experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Contributing to the clinical teaching programme in the junior, intermediate and senior cycle of the four- and five-year teaching programmes;
* Contributing to the assessment of students in the junior, intermediate and senior cycles of the four and five-year programmes;
* Liaising with heads of department, project leaders for clinical competence and other relevant faculty members in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes;
* Providing resources and communication with student groups via the RCSI virtual learning environment;
* Delivering the curriculum at a number of sites e.g. assigned hospitals, RCSI Campus St Stephens Green, RCSI Sandyford Institute of Leadership & Healthcare Management.
Candidate Specification: Essential
* Possess evidence of registration with the Irish Medical Council;
* Possess a keen interest in lecturing and interacting with undergraduate students;
* Possess excellent communication skills.
Desirable
* Previous experience using E-learning/VLE systems;
* Previous experience of teaching and assessing students in an academic environment;
* Previous experience in research;
* Completed at least 4 years of clinical experience post-internship;
* MRCPI / MRCSI or equivalent.
