JOB SUMMARY
Hellios Systems are looking for a Technical Lead to join our new technology/Software engineering team in Dublin. You will be tasked with guiding/leading a small quality driven software engineering team responsible for supporting & evolving our web-based Supplier Information & Risk management systems. These systems underpin the Industry communities that rely on our highly accurate and compliant data services during their key supply chain/procurement management cycles.
Our current technology stack includes some of the following:
React, Typescript, ECMAScript 6, C#, .Net Core, Entity framework, Git, Azure DevOps, PostgreSQL, REST APIs and PHP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design, Develop and implement any new features or enhancements for Hellios web-based applications and systems.
* Elaborate and define requirements together with stakeholders, product team and analysts.
* Produce technical specifications where necessary for any new features, change requests or applications enhancements required.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team around software design, software engineering best practices, peer-reviewing as well as leading by example through your hands-on approach.
* Embrace agile practices and follow modern principles to ensure high quality, clean, well-tested and extendable code.
* Contribute & support ideas to improve and continuously evolve all IT and software for Hellios and their customers.
* Participate in daily scrum stand up with your team to ensure a culture of transparency, collaboration, and inclusiveness.
* Ensure alignment of the team’s technical efforts with those across the wider organisation/business.
* Provide insights to leadership around career development, team performance and opportunities to keep staff engagement levels high within the team.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, ICT, or equivalent industry experience.
* Minimum 7-10+ years commercial software development experience, ideally within an Enterprise IT/software product environment.
* Experience leading/guiding Junior developers and giving direction during sprints and project phases to ensure accountability for delivery within the team.
* Expert proficiency in C# and modern .Net frameworks like .Net Core, Entity Framework.
* Strong grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) and Design patterns.
* Experience working with Relational database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL.
* Experience working with JSON, Web API and Restful services.
* Knowledge/experience of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS is also preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and understanding of the importance of clean, clear, and maintainable code.
