Vickerstock are working in partnership with a food manufacturing firm to appoint a Health & Safety Manager.
The Health & Safety Manager will ensure all site personnel adhere to Safe Systems of Work, comply with relevant legislation, and follow established safety policies.
In your new role:
* Manage the health and safety function across the site.
* Oversee the site's health and safety program, ensuring legal compliance and ongoing improvement.
* Keep all risk assessments and safe work systems current and applicable to site operations.
* Maintain the site's health and safety systems.
* Conduct specialised risk assessments to mitigate risks in line with standards, commercial, and legislative requirements.
* Ensure appropriate training and safety measures are evaluated and provided.
* Prepare health and safety reports and lead monthly health and safety management review meetings.
* Support site maintenance teams to ensure completion of statutory inspections and safe machinery use.
* Actively assist in monitoring on-site contractors and controlling the Permit to Work System.
* Oversee emergency procedures and site fire safety arrangements according to fire safety policy and risk assessment.
* Monitor and report incidents classified under RIDDOR to the HSA and handle any resulting correspondence.
* Perform business risk analysis and approve all site-related risk assessments.
* Assist in sourcing training based on needs assessments and deliver in-house health and safety programs as needed.
* Monitor compliance and conduct audits.
* Lead all communications with external authorities.
* Ensure accurate implementation and investigation of accidents/incidents to identify root causes and prevention.
What you will need to succeed:
* NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
* At least 3 years of experience in health and safety management within a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in NI and ROI.
* Background in managing health and safety in multi-site organisations.
* Demonstrated ability in influencing, coaching, communication, and time management.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to perform effectively under pressure and with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Desirable:
* FMCG experience preferred.
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
