Job Summary
The successful candidate will report to the Central Finance Manager and lead the end-to-end administration and processing of designated grants areas. This role involves coordinating grant activities, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, processing sales and purchase invoices, submitting grant claims, and performing grant reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the administration and processing of designated grants areas.
2. Coordinate grant activities, ensuring compliance with grant draw-down and operator payment schedules.
3. Process related sales and purchase invoices.
4. Submit grant claims to the Department of Transport (DoT).
5. Process Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) payment files for grant funding received.
6. Conduct grant reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
7. Serve as a key point of contact for the Department of Transport, Controller and Auditor-General (C&AG), internal and external stakeholders.
8. Lead and support the month-end grants process.
9. Contribute to a strong compliance culture by maintaining robust internal controls and audit standards.
10. Support Grant and External audits as required.
11. Assist in the preparation of annual Financial Statements and annual budget process.
12. Collaborate on projects as part of a continuous improvement program.
Essential Criteria
* At least 5 years of recent experience in grant management/administration, finance, or compliance, with 2 years of team-lead/supervisory experience.
* Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
* A strong understanding of financial management and auditing project processes.
* Experience ensuring compliance with financial controls and procedures.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, and public speaking.
* Ability to break down complex financial information.
* Well-developed IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
* Public Sector experience is desirable.
