Safety:
The Depot Manager will have responsibility for the Health and Safety of themselves and their employees on the site. It is the responsibility of the Depot Manager to be familiar with the specific requirements to their work area:
1. Ensuring that all Safety, Health Environmental and Quality compliance goals with regards to registered standards are achieved and maintained.
2. Working with the SHEQ team to drive a culture of safe work practice across the depot.
3. Direct resources as appropriate to resolve urgent depot issues in a safe and efficient manner.
Quality:
1. Ensures yield and quality targets are met.
2. Works in conjunction with the Quality Team to produce high quality product.
3. Maintain work standards as required by the accredited Quality compliance standards.
4. Ensure that all the Depot documentation is completed in accordance with GMP standards.
5. Collaborate in internal and external audits.
6. Production participant on Risk Assessment, Quality and health and safety issues.
Delivery:
1. Leads and supports the entire Depot Team to achieve the manufacturing output goals.
2. Ensure that the daily production and delivery schedules are met.
3. Ensure appropriate production resources are in place at all times to deliver the daily / weekly production plan.
4. Forecast operational requirements/resources in advance based on future production schedules, projects etc. to ensure the production targets are met.
5. Provides technical support and direction to production team leads, operators & other support staff.
6. Establish strong communication channels with all support functions to ensure efficient manufacturing process execution.
7. Implement daily / weekly scheduling process to ensure that production staff have a clear workload.
8. Liaise with Transport team as necessary on tanker fleet to meet delivery schedule targets.
9. Implement daily management process to measure actual performance vs. plan.
Inventory Management:
1. Work with the Finance / Purchasing team, to control and manage depot inventory to ensure required tank inventories are in place to meet customer demand.
2. Interface and utilise internal software systems to support daily work tasks and inventory management control.
3. Forecast operational requirements/resources based on future Depot schedules, projects etc. to ensure the Depot targets are met.
4. Manage ship offload process including required manpower and costs.
Order Entry / Customer Service:
1. Work with the Depot / Order Entry Admin to ensure that all Customer Orders and Deliveries are loaded on the ERP System and delivered within agreed lead-times.
Process Improvement:
1. Be an active member in all continuous improvement initiatives across the operations in areas of Quality, Safety, Cost and People (e.g. COL).
2. Reduce and manage Waste material in a cost-effective manner.
3. Elaboration of new operation procedures and update existing ones.
4. Supervise assigned depot projects to eliminate any waste material or inefficient processing.
5. Report all process and equipment issues to the Engineering Manager/ Technical & R&D Director via Limbal and support the development of an effective Preventative Maintenance Program for the site.
People Leadership & Management:
1. Create and maintain a positive work environment across the plant.
2. Performance management of all direct reports - ensuring proactive employee relations and speak-up/collaborative culture.
3. Manage the internal Time and Attendance system for all assigned staff and submit to Payroll / Operations Manager. Manage all overtime, holidays, full performance management cycle including annual reviews, lead any disciplinary actions including PIPs.
4. Ensure that each team member has a clear training plan in place with succession plans in place for the whole team.
5. Ensure clear lines of communication exist across all functional groups on the site. Facilitate the Weekly Operations Review Meeting.
6. Provide technical support and direction to all Depot Staff / Operators and Engineers.
Skills:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience working within the chemical manufacturing industry at supervisory management level.
2. Proven capacity for the execution and coordination of all Production activities.
3. Proven management and leadership ability.
4. Experience in equipment and technology design, selection, testing and procurement.
5. Excellent Communication skills with peers and direct reports.
6. Ability to manage time effectively, through effective delegation of tasks.
7. Self-driven with experience in continuous improvement methods such as lean and other best practice productivity processes.
Qualifications:
1. BSc / BEng, MSc / MEng, in chemical/mechanical engineering / or science equivalent.
