SHEQ Advisor Job Description
Vickerstock is partnering with a leading construction and civil engineering firm to recruit an experienced SHEQ Advisor.
About the Role:
As a key member of the construction project team, you will be responsible for ensuring Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality assurance on all construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Health and Safety, with experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and investigations. You will also have expertise in producing reports and ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant regulations.
In this role, you will oversee the preparation and periodic review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, record and investigate accidents and near-misses, and implement recommended improvements.
You will also be responsible for delivering site inductions to all employees, contractors, and visitors, organizing and coordinating SHEQ-related training, and managing administrative tasks within the SHEQ Department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; produce reports and ensure ongoing compliance.
* Oversee the preparation and periodic review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
* Record, investigate, and implement recommended improvements for all accidents and near-misses.
* Delve site inductions to all employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Organize and coordinate SHEQ-related training for employees.
* Manage and update all relevant administrative tasks within the SHEQ Department.
* Support the development of documentation required for the SHEQ Management System to align with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
Requirements:
* 2+ years' experience within a similar H&S role - Civil Engineering/Construction.
* Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc).
* Experience with ISO standards and auditing (ISO).
* Experience with report writing, organisation or planning.
* Good communication skills.
* IT and numeracy skills (MS Office).
* Full clean driving license - travel to site required.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Environmental or Quality certifications.
* Knowledge of Windfarm or Rail works.
* NEBOSH Diploma.
