The training sessions may be held in-person or virtually using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. The need for these positions is undetermined at this time and is dependent on operational need including enrollment and staffing. Job Description
The training sessions may be held in person or virtually using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. These are grant-funded/external funded temporary part-time positions. Employment is contingent upon availability of continued funding.
Applications to this pool will be used to fill part-time, intermittent, instructor positions for one or more half or full day non-credit bearing professional training workshops for the Voinovich School’s Academy of Excellence in Public Service.
The Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs is an interdisciplinary academic unit at Ohio University. Engaging across sectors, the School’s faculty, professional staff, and students work together to promote economic growth, social impact, leadership and engagement. The Leadership Academy, within the Voinovich School, offers customized professional and executive education programs for adult professionals working in the public or nonprofit sector. Each session is geared toward emerging leaders, professional leaders, or executive leaders.
Job Description: Duties will include developing and presenting session content while working closely with the curriculum manager to meet the needs of the specific learners. This collaboration includes writing appropriate objectives for assessment purposes, creating a training agenda, and providing materials (such as pre-work for participants, PowerPoint presentations, and handouts). We are looking for engaging instructors who incorporate elements of active learning into their instruction. Based on client interest, we anticipate the need for instructors in the following subject matter/content areas:
1. Strategic Thinking
2. Gallup Clifton Strengths
3. Trauma-informed care
4. Basic principles of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Minimum Qualifications
* A bachelor’s degree is required.
* At least five (5) years of professional experience in at least one of the content areas outlined in the job description.
* Commitment to interactive and participatory learning.
* Experience teaching, training, or facilitating adult learners, whether at the university level or in professional settings.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree is preferred.
* Experience in the public sector or nonprofit environment is preferred.
