Talbot Hotel Cork, part of the Talbot Collection, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Partie/Pastry Chef to join our team. Reporting to the Head Chef, the purpose of this role is to assist the Head Chef in ensuring profitable operation of the kitchen by means of food preparation, food production, and food service with a primary focus on the pastry section in line with 4-star requirements and in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
The ideal candidate will be passionate, a good team player, organized, pro-active, ambitious, and a self-motivator possessing a good knowledge of HACCP regulations.

Role Specific Duties:
* Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the Head Chef to ensure a successful working environment.
* Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
* Creating pastries, baked goods, and confections by following a set recipe.
* Developing new recipes for seasonal menus.
* Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.
* Monitoring and ordering the stock.
* Ensuring the pastry section adheres to safety and health regulations.
* Training staff members when needed.
* Ability to work in various kitchen sections, if and as required.
* Ensuring all dishes are prepared in a timely fashion.
* Operating in a safe and responsible manner with recognized techniques.
* Working as part of a busy kitchen team and overall as part of a professional hotel team.
The successful candidate must have:
* Previous experience in a similar position, preferably in a 4* hotel environment.
* 1-2 years pastry experience is essential.
* HACCP trained and hygiene focused.
* A flair for presentation.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* A professional appearance and a positive work attitude.
* Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
Be flexible and available to work varying shifts, 5 out of 7 days, including weekends. The successful Chef must be legally entitled to work variable shifts on a full-time basis in Ireland.
