Project Worker, Mental Health, Tenancy Support and Sustainment, Clare (Full Time)DescriptionProject Worker, Mental Health, Tenancy Support and Sustainment, Clare Location: Mid-West Contract: Full Time, Specific Purpose Contract The purpose of this role is to provide support to individuals who require it to sustain their tenancy in the community.
The service provides intensive tenancy support to mental health service users, in conjunction with the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), who may be homeless or are at risk of homelessness.
A key worker system is provided to each person with the ultimate aim of settling the person to permanent, independent living in the community with or without supports.
What you will do: Work with users of mental health services with housing support needs.Collaborate with Community Mental Health Teams as an integrated member to enhance support for service users relating to housing needs.Visit individuals in their local community and, where appropriate, in their own home.Be responsible for the agreed package of support to individuals identified by the Community Mental Health Teams as requiring the Tenancy Support and Settlement Service.Assist and manage client tenancy and housing needs and make onward referrals as appropriate.Help service users manage tenancy-related issues.Establish links with local services and relevant community groups, working closely with housing providers/landlords where appropriate.Be aware of responsibilities and respond appropriately to any situation where child protection and welfare is a concern.Conduct regular client reviews regarding wellbeing, social engagement, active citizenship, etc.Work with a client-centered approach, encouraging autonomy and independence based on recovery principles.Maintain regular communication with the Focus Ireland Manager.Engage in regular supervision with the identified supervisor in Focus Ireland.Work under the supervision and direction of line management within the project and report to the Intensive TSS Operational Group as part of the Mental Health Service Improvement governance structure.Familiarize and comply with all relevant Focus Ireland and HSE policies, e.g., Child Protection Policy, Confidentiality Policy, Customer Complaints Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Personnel Policy.Maintain accurate records and statistics as per Focus Ireland and HSE policy.Develop resource materials on services in areas where you work.Supervise volunteers/students/support staff when required.Participate in the review, evaluation, and development of the project.Engage in relevant training and development courses including Recovery in Mental Health as provided by Mid West ARIES and other identified courses.Attend and contribute to Team, Section, and Agency meetings as required.Prepare regular monthly reports for supervision or as requested by the Manager and TSS Operational Group.Liaise and work cooperatively and effectively with other divisions in Focus Ireland regarding organisational procedures and policies in areas of personnel, finance and administration, research, development, education, public awareness, and services.Work within the framework of the overall objectives of Focus Ireland and the Mid-West Mental Health Service.Undertake other work assigned by the Assistant Project Leader, Manager, or Head of Department.What you will need: A relevant third-level qualification at degree level, i.e., social care, psychology, sociology.Excellent working knowledge of services available to those who experience mental health challenges.An understanding and/or experience of working with individuals or families who have experienced homelessness.Full clean driving license and use of own car.Experience of supporting individuals with mental health difficulties (Desirable).Ability to work on own initiative (Desirable).Focus Ireland is an equal opportunities employer.
