Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Jabil in Dublin is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Team.
Summary:
* Leads containment and resolution of supplier quality issues. Serves as a technical focal point to monitor and work with suppliers directly, communicating status on non-conforming parts or suppliers across all programs.
* Determines appropriate inspection processes and directs IQC personnel, where applicable, in executing day-to-day activities.
* Evaluates supplier performance, drives supplier improvements, and initiates corrective actions through the SCAR process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Reviews all supplier or customer discrepancies, coordinates, and tracks corrective/preventative action efforts.
* Participates in vendor survey activities, drives proactive participation with suppliers, and aids in their process improvement efforts when possible.
* Provides insight and assistance in implementing and maintaining Process Improvement and Optimization, focusing on proactive methodologies.
* Defines, develops, and implements supply base strategies that drive improvements in supplier selection, development, and leverage across customer programs for quality improvements and cost savings.
* Provides regular updates to the Quality Engineering Manager on the execution of the strategy.
* Supports NPI activities by participating in the AQP process as required.
* Ensures timely resolution of production-critical supplier issues and implements corrective actions.
* Defines and develops appropriate Inspection Plans and Inspection Methods, directing Receiving Inspection Auditors.
* Ensures ongoing site supplier evaluation by collecting site information from Receiving Inspection, MRB, Customer Returns, SCAR database, and liaison efforts with customer work cells. Performance will be reported internally, to the supplier, and to the customer where applicable.
* Monitors and drives PPM issues with the supply base while helping them achieve 'Dock to Stock' certification with Jabil (in accordance with the vendor performance system).
* Leads the SCAR – Supplier Corrective/Preventive Action process for problem resolution and continuous improvement, including critical analysis of supplier DOE, CPK, Gauge R&R studies.
* Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.
* Complies and follows all procedures within the company security policy.
* Serves as the Site RoHS Subject Matter Expert.
* May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
* BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Electronic Engineering, or Mechatronics. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
* 3-5 years' experience in Quality Engineering or a related field within an electronic manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience liaising with customers and suppliers.
