Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist with a specialty in Neurology to join our Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team in Limerick. This is an exceptional opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing excellent Occupational Therapy services for individuals aged 18-65 with diagnosed Neurological conditions across Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary.
About the Team
The Mid-west Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team provides a Therapy service for individuals with Neurological conditions such as acquired brain injury, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, cerebellar ataxia, and Friedreich's ataxia. Our out-patient, appointment-based service offers individual, group, single and joint therapy sessions.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver individual, group, single, and joint therapy sessions
* Provide therapy in the rehabilitation centre, community, or at home
* Tailor treatment plans to support clients in achieving their identified goals
* Offer flexible and intensive rehabilitation sessions up to four times per week for up to 12 weeks
Client Criteria
* Diagnosed primary neurological condition (excluding dementia)
* Aged 18-64 (eligible if accepted before turning 65)
* Permanent address within Limerick, Clare, or North Tipperary
* Require intervention in at least two areas: Speech and Language, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Clinical Psychology
* Medically stable and able to participate in intensive rehabilitation
* Access to transport and agreement with the referral process
Essential Requirements
* Degree in Occupational Therapy
* CORU Registration
* Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
* 2 years experience working with Neurological conditions, frailty, and complex rehabilitation needs
* Highly developed physical skills relevant to the clinical area
* Proven leadership skills
* Ability to manage a clinical caseload
* Ability to cope under pressure demonstrating resilience
* Adaptive team player
* Proven ability to supervise junior Occupational Therapists and contribute to service development
* Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
