Position Purpose:
The Baler is responsible for securely processing client material brought in every day.
This includes ensuring all returned off-site client documentation is destroyed within agreed timeframes.
The Baler helps the team succeed by ensuring trucks and equipment are ready for service every day.
The Baler is also responsible for handheld download and upload of service orders, as well as general maintenance and cleaning of baler, static shredder, dust extraction, inside and outside premises.
A flexible approach to the role is necessary, as the Baler will need to cover both afternoon and morning shifts where applicable.
Key Job Activities:
The Baler is overall responsible for unloading paper onto a conveyor belt.
They operate the baling machine, straight truck by backing inside the building, and perform maintenance checks on each shredder and baler equipment.
The Baler communicates with CSR's on pre-trip, post-trip, and repair requests.
Responsibilities include weekly shipments of materials from the warehouse, safeguarding office hardware and equipment by locking and activating the security system, and monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining balers, shredder, bag houses, and overheads.
The Baler continually inspects containers and writes work orders for needed repairs.
They operate forklifts and perform preventive maintenance on forklift equipment.
Maintenance tasks include performing weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance on all equipment.
The Baler maintains supplies for Baler room operation.
Education:
GCSE required
Experience (EMEAA):
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical expertise in problem-solving.
The Baler assists with training and development of inexperienced Baler Operators to ensure they meet safety expectations.
Verbal and written instructions are interpreted to maintain equipment and operate safely.
Effective communication requires reading, writing, and understanding English.
Rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime are required.
Previous experience using baler equipment is essential.
A current and valid C driving license is necessary.
Certifications and/or Licenses:
A current and valid fork lift truck license – although training will be provided if required.
