The Front of House Porter is an important position working closely with the Reception Team.
About Us The Fleet Hotel is a wonderful boutique style Hotel located in the centre of Dublin on the edge of Temple Bar.
It comprises of some beautiful period buildings including the iconic Bewleys Café, much loved by Dubliner's for decades.
The Fleet Hotel is synonymous with local Dublin history, before becoming the Fleet Hotel, 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley's Café which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905.
Bewleys were known to be one of the finest Tea Houses in Europe and a favourite with Dubliner's for generations.
Role/Responsibilities The Front of House Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall appearance of the front of house areas in the Hotel.
This includes the lobby, reception area, restrooms, walkways, corridors and other designated areas.
The role demands excellent customer service skills as the porter often serves as a point of contact for guests, providing assistance and ensuring a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Cleanliness and Maintenance : Regularly clean and sanitize all front of house areas, including floors, windows, furniture, and restrooms.
Ensure all public areas are well-maintained and presentable at all times.
Perform regular checks of high-traffic areas to maintain cleanliness throughout the day.
Report any maintenance issues or potential hazards to the appropriate department.
Customer Service :
Greet and assist guests upon arrival, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly and courteously.
Assist with luggage and other guest needs as required.
Provide directions and information about the facility and surrounding areas.
Support Operations :
Assist front desk staff with various tasks as needed, including delivering items to guest rooms or other locations within the establishment.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure seamless operations.
Set up and break down public areas for events or meetings as required.
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as necessary.
Security and Safety :
Ensure all public areas are free from obstacles and potential hazards.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including COVID-19 protocols if applicable.
Assist in emergency situations, following established procedures and guidelines.
