Staff Nurse - Full Time Permanent

Job Purpose:
To deliver the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner through direct nursing care and effective supervision of staff members.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all staff members contribute to the efficient running of the Nursing Home and create an atmosphere conducive to clients' best interests.
2. Report any ill health among clients and request G.P/professional visits when necessary.
3. Ensure clients' care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with clients, relatives, and other healthcare professionals, following An Bord Altranais guidelines and company policy.
4. Assess clients' care needs and provide health supervision and direct nursing care when required.
5. Maintain accurate records and ensure each client has an individualized care plan, reviewed monthly or more frequently as needed.
6. Administer prescribed medicines and document accordingly, adhering to company procedures and An Bord Altranais guidelines.
7. Practice integrity in dealings with clients' personal and financial affairs, avoiding abuse of privileged relationships.
Communication:
* Participate in staff and client meetings as needed.
* Establish and maintain good communication with clients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide administrative support when required.
Health & Safety:
* Report immediately to the D.O.N or person in charge any illness or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self, or another.
* Understand and implement the Nursing Home's Health and Safety policy, Emergency, and Fire Procedures.
* Report maintenance issues or potential hazards to the D.O.N or person in charge.
General:
* Adhere to An Bord Altranais guidelines and regulations.
* Maintain documentation and records as required by the Registering Authority and Directors of Nursing.
* Ensure confidential information is not disclosed to third parties.
* Notify the D.O.N or person in charge of inability to report for duty.
* Ensure security of the Nursing Home is maintained at all times.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures within defined timescales.
* Clean and maintain equipment.
