We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join a leading international construction company that specialises in mechanical and electrical engineering solutions. Headquartered in Dublin, this organisation is experiencing significant growth and expanding its operations across multiple continents.
In this key role, the Senior Financial Accountant will collaborate closely with the Financial Controller, taking a leadership position within the finance team. You will ensure that financial processes are optimised, compliance is maintained, and strategic financial objectives are achieved.

Your Role
* Take ownership of the financial reporting process, including preparing detailed management reports and presenting findings to senior management.
* Lead the monthly review of bank and supplier reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate financial information.
* Manage general ledger postings, fixed asset registers, and oversee lease arrangements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
* Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, and lead the analysis of overhead expenses to drive efficiency improvements.
* Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns, overseas tax filings, PAYE, and RCT submissions, ensuring full compliance.
* Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly group financial reports, ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Play a key role in the preparation of the annual audit file and liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
* Provide leadership on finance-related projects aimed at improving financial and operational performance across the organisation.
* Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, providing them with the support and leadership to grow in their roles.
Your Skills
* A qualified accountant (min 2 years PQE) with proven experience in financial management and leadership.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* A proactive leader with a results-driven attitude, capable of driving process improvements.
* Extensive experience in ledger management, financial reporting, and overseeing tax compliance.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
* Previous experience in payroll processes is a plus.
