Job Title: Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician (DIS2)
About the Role
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon plays a critical role in our operations, ensuring vital machinery runs smoothly at all times. As an RME Technician, you'll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on various site equipment.
* Carrying out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
* Using the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
* Upholding all health and safety policies and practices.
* Supporting the development and progression of on-site apprentices.
* Working on continuous improvement projects and rolling out best practices across EU sites.
A Day in the Life
As an RME Technician, you'll be based on-site to quickly respond to machinery issues. You'll perform planned preventative maintenance on our sites' equipment to ensure it's working safely. In addition, you'll respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also suggest long-term improvements.
About the Team
The RME team is a technically-minded group of excellent team players guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres. Our team handles various aspects of Amazon's technical side, including installing automated packaging systems, overseeing general maintenance, and repairing key distribution equipment. This ensures our sites are operating at maximum efficiency and are legally compliant, keeping everyone safe.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* NFQ6 (Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Engineering) or equivalent qualifications such as Solace/Solas level 6 mechanical/Electrical or Mechatronics.
* Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
* Experience fault finding within MHE/Automation systems.
* Experience interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings.
* Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
We're looking for candidates with:
* Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng qualifications.
* Experience of high voltage switching.
* Experience of sortation machines.
* Experience maintaining/configuring bar code scanners.
* Experience of print and apply machines.
* Experience in fault finding on building equipment i.e HVAC, Dock Doors, plumbing and general building maintenance tasks.
