Lead Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist
Summary
A highly experienced professional sought to lead the Environmental Impact Assessment process for large-scale Renewable Energy projects, ensuring compliance with planning and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EIA processes and Irish planning policy/legislation.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and Appropriate Assessments/Natura Impact Statements (AAs/NISs)
* Provide expert environmental advice to support business strategy and inform Planning Team decisions
* Stay up-to-date on changes in planning and environmental legislation, policies, and development plans
* Contribute to company submissions as needed
* Support Stakeholder and Advocacy team in developing communication and consultation plans with local communities and stakeholders
* Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist in procurement processes
* Maintain Health & Safety and Environmental policy compliance and relevant EU and National regulations
* Mentor and support junior staff in EIA and Appropriate Assessment processes
* Participate in performance management to achieve team objectives
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Hons level 8 FETAC)
* Postgraduate qualification (Lvl 9 FETAC) preferred
* Minimum 5 years' experience leading EIAR and AA/NIS preparation for large-scale projects
* Strong knowledge of EIA processes and Irish planning policy/legislation
* Experience in renewables or related infrastructure projects desirable; technical expertise in ecology, noise, or air quality a plus
* Proven track record working on projects with varying priorities, risk profiles, and timelines
