A Day in the Life
Daily reviews and meetings with site operation teams.
Coordination and assistance with KPI development and roll out through the manufacturing areas.
Provide EHS guidance R&D functions regarding design for manufacturability and sustainable development.
Assist to administer and implement the site EHS Management System in accordance with IPC License, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO5001, legal and corporate requirements.
Co-ordinate and perform EHSE Audits, coordinating the timely completion of findings & actions.
Assist the EHS function to drive sustainability goals and ensure environmental compliance.
Assist to conduct studies and prepares environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes and permit changes.
Complete equipment safety assessments as required.
Perform area, process, and chemical risk assessments, identify opportunities for improvement and define controls in conjunction with operations, engineering, and quality.
Lead EHS improvement projects from concept to implementation.
Proactively develop risk mitigation strategies for site risk profile.
Perform incident investigations, root cause analysis.
Ensure appropriate corrective and preventative action is taken where environmental, health, and safety hazards exist.
Collate and report manufacturing area EHSE metrics and KPI's.
Promote a culture of EHS excellence and provides high-quality EHS technical knowledge.
Become familiar with and promote the EHS Medtronic performance system.
Review and update key EHS documents and procedures.
Contribute to the timely performance of the EHS departmental goals and objectives.
Key Skills & Experience
Minimum Bachelor's Level 8 degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Environmental Science or other relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
A post graduate qualification in Environmental Science and/or Environmental, Health and Safety, an advantage.
Minimum 5 years previous experience in an Environmental role or EHS required.
Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Medical Devices industry background an advantage.
Detailed knowledge of legislation and ability to interpret and translate such information into site policy and procedures.
Good communication skills and computer skills essential.
Good attention to detail with ability to problem solve.
