Bord na Móna are seeking a Communications Graduate to join our team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support on various Renewable Energy Community Benefit Fund projects and initiatives whilst gaining practical experience of general communications, stakeholder and advocacy engagement programmes and activities required to support the development and operation of our renewable energy portfolio. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a multitasker, and someone who is eager to learn and grow within our organization.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the successful roll out and annual running of Community Benefit Funds across the business.
* Assist in the development of annual programme plans to support same.
* Work with other members of the team to ensure Fund governance is adhered to and actively assist with Fund reporting as required to internal and external stakeholders.
* Assist in the implementation of Community Benefit strategies aligned with the overall organisational goals and objectives.
* Work with the other members of the team to innovate team processes and systems, including the delivery of ad-hoc projects as required to facilitate the efficient delivery of annual Community Benefit Funds.
* Work proactively with external partners such as third-party fund administrators, industry bodies and technology providers, as appropriate.
* Support the wider Stakeholder and Advocacy Programme and provide assistance as required.
* Actively attend and participate in public engagement events as required, ensuring a proactive approach to community engagement in line with company policy.
* Handle day-to-day administrative duties including scheduling meetings, coordinating with internal departments, and managing communications.
* Actively assist in the Preparation of Fund specific control documentation, including project programmes, financial tracking, risk registers, issues log and action log.
* Prepare regular reports on fund activities, fund campaigns, and feedback to support strategic decision-making.
* Actively assist in the creation of a team culture that lives and promotes efficiency, effectiveness, innovation, flexibility and a positive work ethic.
* Support the team in executing campaigns, preparing promotional materials (including digital) and co-ordinating events.
* Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective community benefit recipients, providing exceptional service and support.
* Co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises.
* Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge and attributes:
* Hons Degree in Business Studies, Public Relations, Community Development or other related discipline is essential.
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Flexible in terms of availability for outside of normal hours.
