ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with Engineers in developing, troubleshooting, standardizing, and improving existing production processes and procedures.
2. Assist Engineers in investigating and implementing new production methods.
3. Assist Engineers in design methods, part sourcing, and documentation.
4. Design, specify, manufacture, test, and document production equipment, changes, and improvements.
5. Interface with a variety of internal personnel and with outside vendors as necessary while performing the above.
6. Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures with an assigned process or area.
7. Communicate any concerns about work processes regarding environmental impact, health, or safety issues to their Manager.
8. Set up equipment and facilitate changeover.
9. Change injection moulds as required.
10. Implement process improvements.
11. Support projects as required.
12. Ensure the environmental impact of all operations is considered in relation to purchasing, waste management, recycling, and energy.
13. Conform to the requirements of the quality and environmental management system.
14. Undertake ad hoc duties and projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. The ideal candidate should be a qualified fitter, toolmaker, electrician, or hold a mechatronic qualification.
2. Previous experience of working in a dynamic cleanroom manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device area, is desirable.
3. Experience should include changeovers and troubleshooting on injection moulding, Multivac packaging, extrusion blow moulding, running automated lines, and ultrasonic welding.
4. Experience of completing maintenance tasks on a range of equipment.
5. Strong team player, with the ability to work on own initiative.
