Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Evening Shift Manager to join the team. The Shift Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of food production operations during the evening shift. This role ensures compliance with production targets, safety regulations, quality standards and team management. The manager is responsible for maintaining seamless workflows and resolving issues as they arise from both an operation and personnel aspect.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise daily production activities to meet established schedules and goals.
* Monitor the efficiency and output of machinery, equipment, and the work force.
* Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards as per regulatory and company policies.
* Lead, motivate, and manage the evening production team.
* Clear and open communication regarding goals, priorities, and expectations.
* Train and mentor team members, ensuring skill development and adherence to best practices.
* Enforce workplace safety protocols to minimise risks and ensure a safe working environment.
* Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimise downtime.
* Communicate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs of equipment and machinery.
* Prepare end-of-shift reports detailing production metrics, challenges, and resolutions.
Attributes, Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in food production or manufacturing, of which 3 years are at supervisory level or above.
* A sound knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
* Flexibility to work day shifts, when required.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
