Job Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Dublin City Centre
This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension, offering a hybrid working structure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of monthly income reconciliations, including analysing and investigating variances, including the reconciliation of EMV associated merchant fees.
* Contributing to the design of monthly reports, including reporting KPIs to management and other departments.
* Financial analysis, reporting expertise, and financial support to the business.
* Continuous improvement of financial reporting processes through review and documentation of 'as is' processes, with responsibility to design and document 'to be' as part of the relevant project design(s).
* Responsible for contributing to the annual budgeting and forecasting process for various projects involving finance reconciliation.
* Assisting in the creation and enhancement of procedure manuals, such as SOP documents, and the standardisation of processes.
* Liaising with other Finance teams and finance stakeholders on a regular daily basis.
* Assisting the Reconciliations Manager to ensure data protection and retention policies and procedures are documented and implemented.
* Support the system development and upgrade within the finance function.
* Attend relevant project update sessions and act as designated finance representative.
* Participate in UAT and all associated testing of systems and processes, working closely with the relevant Project Test manager(s).
* Support the development of internal finance portals and business partnering reporting.
Requirements:
* A recognised accounting qualification, with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience or significant work experience in an equivalent role.
* Experience with the preparation of management accounts, reconciliations, and annual financial statements.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate and interact effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team, and as leader of a group.
* Good analytical ability, with a logical approach to problem-solving and sound judgement.
* A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
* Capacity to proactively and constructively contribute to team tasks.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* A 'can-do' approach with the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
* Strong MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint essential) skills.
* Experience working with finance automation tools desirable but not essential.
* Experience working with finance ERP's (MS Dynamics/Agresso experience desirable).
