Job Overview The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue by promoting and selling the hotel's event facilities, including meeting rooms, weddings, corporate events, and various family occasions such as communions, confirmations, graduations, and funerals.
In addition, the role involves leading the events team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, proactive sales techniques, and effective team management to guarantee successful events and a high level of client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Sales and Revenue Generation Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals for events and conference facilities.
Actively seek out new sales opportunities, including corporate events, weddings, family gatherings, and social events.
Generate and follow up on leads, build client relationships, and close sales.
Prepare and present proposals to prospective clients, ensuring packages meet their requirements and budget.
Client Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for event clients, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
Build long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Host site visits and conduct tours of the property to showcase event facilities and services.
Team Management Lead, manage, and motivate the events team to ensure smooth coordination and execution of all events.
Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities to team members.
Conduct regular team meetings to review event plans, assign responsibilities, and monitor performance.
Ensure effective communication among team members and other hotel departments involved in event delivery.
Event Coordination Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements, including room layouts, catering, AV needs, and other details.
Collaborate with the banquet and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of all events.
Oversee event schedules, ensuring all aspects are in line with client expectations and hotel standards.
Marketing and Promotion Assist in marketing and promotional activities for events, including creating targeted packages and offers for different segments.
Partner with the marketing team to ensure event offerings are well-represented in promotional materials.
Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to promote the hotel's services.
Administrative Duties Maintain an organized and up-to-date events calendar and booking system.
Create detailed function sheets, contracts, and invoices to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Monitor and report on event sales performance, including forecasting and analysing key metrics.
Customer Service Excellence Provide exceptional customer service to all clients and guests.
Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively to ensure satisfaction.
Ensure a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that each event reflects the hotel's standards of excellence.
Qualifications and Skills Education : Diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not essential.
Experience : 2+ years of experience in event sales or a similar role within a hotel or event venue, including team management experience.
Skills : Strong sales and negotiation skills.
