On Behalf of our Manufacturing Client, we have an open role for a Mechanical Technician to join their R&D site in Limerick.
Job Description Summary
As a Mechanical Technician, you will support the Mechanical & Test team with design verification and validation activities, reliability testing, root cause analysis investigations, and also support test fixture development.
Main Responsibilities will include
* Executing day-to-day, hands-on tasks and deliverables as part of the Mechanical and Test team.
* Performing analytical testing on medical devices to generate data that is used to improve product design, support design verification testing, or root cause analysis investigations.
* Generating or assisting in generating product development documentation (e.g., Test Methods, Test Protocols, and Test Reports) using appropriate technical writing.
* Maintaining accurate data records and presenting data in a reportable format; concisely communicating technical challenges and recommending workable solutions.
* Assisting in the installation, validation, and maintenance of R&D laboratory equipment.
* Participating in technical review meetings, as required.
About You
* Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar (e.g., Mechatronics, Manufacturing, etc.) acquired through apprenticeship or 3rd level education.
* Industrial experience in an R&D environment is preferred.
* Familiarity with laboratory equipment (e.g., analytical balances, vernier calipers, micrometers, pressure sensors, and other metrology equipment, Instron UTM) is preferred.
* Proficient in typical office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Ability to prioritize and multi-task, work independently in a laboratory environment with minimal supervision.
* Good verbal and written communication with all levels of technical and operating management.
This role is initially a 12-month contract, based on site 5 days per week, and it is a Junior role. If you are a recent Graduate with some Co-Op experience or up to 6 months - 1 year of relevant experience, then this role may be for you.
