Responsibilities:
Lead the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for large-scale Renewable Energy projects, including the delivery of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact Statement (AA/NIS).
Provide environmental expertise to support the Planning Team and inform business strategy, ensuring compliance with planning and environmental regulations.
Stay updated on changes in planning/environmental legislation, policies, and development plans.
Contribute to company submissions as needed.
Assist the Stakeholder and Advocacy team in developing communication and consultation plans with local communities and stakeholders.
Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist in procurement processes.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental policies, and relevant EU and National regulations.
Mentor and assist junior staff, particularly in EIA and Appropriate Assessment processes.
Participate in performance management to achieve team objectives.
Requirements:
Hons Degree (Lvl 8 FETAC) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field; Postgraduate qualification (Lvl 9 FETAC) is a plus.
5+ years' experience leading EIAR and AA/NIS preparation for large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of the EIA process and Irish planning policy/legislation.
Experience in renewables or related infrastructure projects is desirable; technical expertise in disciplines like ecology, noise, or air quality is a plus .
Experience with projects of varying priorities, risk profiles, and timelines is beneficial.
