Role Overview
Here at GxP Recruitment we’re looking for a passionate and experienced engineering leader to guide and grow a high-performing team at the forefront of transcatheter medical device innovation. Key Responsibilities
1. Inspire, lead, and develop a diverse team of world-class engineers in the design and development of ground-breaking transcatheter devices and related procedures.
2. Play a critical role in organisational scaling, ensuring the team evolves in alignment with business goals and possesses the capabilities to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
3. Partner on strategic planning initiatives, working closely with internal and external experts to enhance both clinical and technical capabilities.
4. Build and strengthen cross-functional and cross-site relationships within a large, global matrixed organisation.
5. Support the delivery of complex and high-impact projects, often involving ambiguity or undefined pathways.
6. Make sound project decisions grounded in technical and clinical insight, combined with customer input.
7. Oversee a team of senior engineers and managers engaged in both product development and early-stage technology exploration.
8. Provide mentorship and coaching, ensuring robust career development plans and growth opportunities are in place for all direct reports.
9. Collaborate with project core teams to establish clear objectives and review performance progress.
10. Manage functional budgeting and resource planning, ensuring efficient and effective use of team capacity.
11. Ensure full adherence to company policies and relevant industry standards and regulations.
12. Drive innovative solutions to both engineering and organisational challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Level 8 degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
2. At least 7 years of hands-on engineering experience in a comparable environment.
3. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing technical teams.
4. Strong people leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
5. Proven expertise in program management within a regulated environment.
6. A dynamic, proactive mindset with the ability to lead in a global, cross-functional team environment.
7. Extensive experience in the medical device sector, with a results-driven and impact-focused approach.
