Principal Ecologist
Nationwide options available for this role. Our company offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to split your time between the office, fieldwork, and home office.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services.
2. Provide expert ecological input for a range of projects.
3. Plan, conduct, and supervise the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
4. Prepare and monitor the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
5. Undertake Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reporting requirements.
6. Write technical reports and other deliverables.
7. Manage quality, including attention to detail and accuracy, delivery of contracts on time and to the highest possible standards.
8. Provide expert witness at Oral Hearings.
9. Develop excellent relationships with clients and attend meetings with clients and design teams when necessary.
Requirements:
1. A degree in ecology or a related subject.
2. A minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
3. Membership in CIEEM, CIWEM, or an equivalent professional body.
4. Experience in the oral hearing process and as an expert witness.
5. Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland.
6. Excellent technical report writing skills.
7. Experience in preparing and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
8. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
9. Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
10. A full clean driving license.
