New Product Engineer - Dublin City Centre
Job Description
In this role, you will work within the operations/production/quality department, supporting company products from manufacture to customer support and new product introduction. This involves adhering to defined test procedures and meeting customer-specific hardware and software requirements.
The new product introduction process ensures that all necessary documentation, procedures, and tests are in place for sub-contract manufacture. It also includes providing training and support to sub-contract manufacturers as required.
This role requires a strong focus on quality, with attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and maintenance of quality records and documentation being essential aspects. A good knowledge of ISO 9001 is required.
Core Responsibilities:
* Ensure timely delivery of quality products to customers.
* NPI – Collaborate with hardware and software teams to introduce new products successfully and on time.
* Assist in component verification and validation.
* Manage product validation and certification.
* Develop production test equipment.
* Responsible for customer failure analysis.
* Determine root cause and drive corrective and preventative actions.
* Identify and drive product and process quality and cost improvements.
* Process non-conforming products and document them.
* Provide technical guidance to production technicians.
* Support contract manufacturers to ensure highest quality product delivery.
* Inspect, test, pack, and process products according to set guidelines.
* Maintain records for all products, including test results and quality inspections.
* Receive, document, analyse, and process RMA products in a timely manner.
Requirements:
* Several years' experience in production, quality, test, and/or RMA environments, with a proven track record of high performance.
* Diploma/Degree in electronic/computer engineering or equivalent.
* A results-driven individual with ability to handle varied workload.
* Ability to work independently – self-motivated.
* Systematic and logical approach to work activity.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Priorities:
* Skill in using various test equipment tools, logic analyser; curve tracer, oscilloscopes, etc.
* Solid rework and soldering skills.
* Competency in Microsoft tools, Word, Excel, Project, etc.
