Theatre Manager Role Overview
The Theatre Manager will lead and manage a team of nursing and support colleagues to provide patient-centered, evidence-based quality care. This role involves coordinating and managing activities and resources within the Theatre, Endoscopy, and CSSD departments to ensure safe, quality-assured, efficient services for patients and colleagues.
Duties & Responsibilities
* In consultation with CNMs, Consultants, and other disciplines, implement and assess quality management programs.
* Contribute to developing services in the theatre and endoscopy department.
* Foster good working relationships between colleagues by maintaining high professional standards.
* Work efficiently within allocated resources through rigorous planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
* Promote teamwork and excellent patient care as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Manage communication at departmental level and facilitate team building.
* Provide staff leadership and motivation for good working relations and work performance.
* Manage resources efficiently and effectively.
* Lead and implement change as required.
* Develop evidence-based policies and procedures for best practice.
* Monitor policies and procedures, and lead proactive improvement.
* Ensure staff development and induction programs are in place for the clinical area.
* Identify opportunities for staff professional development aligned with service requirements.
* Comply with relevant accreditation standards, identifying and implementing quality improvement opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Be a registered general nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Have 3-5 years' experience in a leadership role within a theatre environment, preferably in a private healthcare setting.
* Hold a qualification in Peri-operative Nursing.
* Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to influence others.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience of quality audit/assurance systems.
* Experience with clinical and professional practice development.
* Experience in change management.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Participation in an accreditation process is desirable.
Job Requirements
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring relocation to Waterford, County Waterford. Ability to commute or relocate before starting work is essential.
