The Analytical Sciences Team Lead will be responsible for coordination and management of the day-to-day execution of analytical method transfer projects. They will manage and develop the team to ensure the relevant skill sets are available to ensure project delivery.
They will support the analytical scientists to solve daily issues, while playing a part in designing and implementing the global analytical strategy. They must demonstrate wider business and lab operations knowledge and the ability to act with a wider business context in mind. They must develop key contacts within the network to ensure the success of new product transfers.
Main responsibilities:
* Act as delegate for AS Manager
* Provide analytical chemistry services and support to Site
* Interact effectively with other departments on matters related to raw materials, intermediates, and finished batch releases, maintaining close contact with Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering, and Planners
* Maintain, update, and issue chemical methods, specifications, and SOPs in compliance with pharmacopoeial and regulatory requirements
* Coordinate training of the analysts in all areas to ensure business needs can be met
* Review and approve technical reports
* Update the AS manager on potential problems and highlight improvements where possible
* Identify and implement Continuous Improvement projects in support of improved ways of working
* Accountable for delivering method transfers, Development to Validation
About you
* Degree in Science or related area (Chemistry, Biochemistry preferred)
Skills and Knowledge:
* Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a laboratory environment – ideally part of which would be in the pharma or biopharma sector
* Experience of managing teams would be an advantage
* Effective facilitator
* Good communication skills at organization, team, and individual levels
* Understands KPIs for the team and site
* Natural influencer and works well as part of a multi-functional team
* Adaptable and flexible as well as a pragmatically minded problem solver
* Energetic in the pursuit of improved processes and ultimately improved performance
* Strong patient focus
