The Organisation:
Cheeverstown is a voluntary organisation, regulated by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA). We provide a wide range of person centered services including residential, respite and day services to almost 400 children and adults with an intellectual disability in the south Dublin area.
Purpose of the Post:
The Person in Charge - CNM1 role encompasses management of all aspects of the Designated Centre to include provision of a high quality, person-centred service to residents and effective management of a team of health and social care professionals to ensure delivery of the highest quality residential service. This is a full time (37.5hr) contract. Shift pattern includes a minimum of 4 days per week, mixture of long and short days.

Therefore, flexibility in your working location is required in order to best support Service Users to achieve their individual desired goals and live full and meaningful lives. Placement is across all areas of Cheeverstown Campus as well as our services in the South Dublin & Kildare area. Applicants must be agreeable to support the transition of campus-based residents to supported living in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Effectively discharge your role as Person in Charge, in line with the requirements of HIQA, The Health Act (2007) and associated Regulations.
* Ensure that allocated resources are effectively managed and deployed.
* Implement management systems, which ensure that the service provided is safe, appropriate to the people we support's needs, of a high quality and effectively monitored.
* Ensure that all Cheeverstown policies and procedures are in place, up to date and effectively implemented in your areas of responsibility.
* Ensure that Cheeverstown Safeguarding systems and processes are implemented effectively in your areas of responsibility.
* Maintain an up-to-date Risk Register in line with the policy requirements.
* Ensure the Risk and Incident Management policies and procedures are implemented effectively in your service area.
* Ensure all necessary risks are escalated to your Divisional Lead, through your line manager, in a timely manner.
* Educate all employees on the standards and regulation (S.I.367) and their role in adhering to these.
* Continually monitor and improve the quality of the service, through observation and audit.
Person Specification:
* Applications are invited from candidates who are currently registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in the RNID Division, with a minimum of 3 years' post registration experience, preferably in Intellectual Disability.
* Applications from other nurses registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland will also be considered.
* Meet the requirements of the Health Act (2007) Regulations (2013) with regard to the requirements of a Person in Charge.
* 2-3 years' experience of managing a team or service would be an advantage.
* 3-5 years' experience in the disability sector would be an advantage.
* A management qualification would be an advantage (must be willing to obtain one).
* Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
* Candidates will possess a high level of communication skills and strong command of English language (both verbally and written).
* Flexible, responsive to a person-centered approach and the individual needs and abilities of the person.
* Candidates should be proficient in I.T.
* Full driver's license and access to use of own car.
Other Requirements Specific to the Post:
* Management experience and good leadership ability and team building skills.
* Possess knowledge of developments in HSE Social Care Policy.
* Strong skills in networking and promoting community inclusion and social outcomes.
* Knowledge of Irish Healthcare.
* Knowledge of HIQA/Safer better healthcare standards.
* Strong awareness of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at risk of Abuse.
* Strong understanding of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act, with the knowledge to exercise this in care.
Please Note: All job offers are subject to two successful references, ongoing Garda Vetting, relevant qualifications, a satisfactory pre-employment medical and completion of mandatory training both online and onsite. Salary is in accordance with HSE CNM1 consolidated pay scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
