Volunteer: PR and Communications Director - Cork Nature Network
This is a remote volunteer role requiring a minimum of three hours a week. The role requires knowledge of Irish media and communications systems.
Role Purpose
The PR and Communications Director will be responsible for developing and managing press releases, communication strategies, media relations, and public relations activities to promote wildlife conservation efforts and raise public awareness of Cork Nature Network's mission.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement an operational plan for the communications team.
2. Collaborate closely with the Marketing Director to align promotional activities and messaging aimed at increasing membership.
3. Drive membership growth for Cork Nature Network by working with the Membership Officer to enhance membership packages and promotional campaigns.
4. Supervise and support volunteers within the Communications team, ensuring effective external communications and providing assistance where necessary.
5. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders, providing guidance to enhance partnerships.
6. Prepare an annual summary report detailing the team’s activities and outcomes.
7. Additional responsibilities or projects may be assigned in agreement with relevant team leaders, depending on organisational needs.
Education & Experience
Essential:
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven experience managing and working with teams.
* Professional qualifications and work experience in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
