Our Client is a leading M&E engineering consultancy based in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway, offering engineering design and project management services on large scale projects.
We are looking for a Senior Energy and Sustainability Engineer to manage, design, develop & evaluate energy related projects or programs to reduce or improve energy costs & energy efficiency during the designing, building or re-modelling stages of construction.
Responsibilities include:
1. Lead and manage the Energy & Sustainability Engineering for all of our projects, ensuring project performance and profitability whilst demonstrating client care.
2. Management, appointment & auditing of subcontractors & their information as appropriate.
3. Co-ordinating dynamic thermal modelling (IESVE) analysis including: Part L Assessments, Comfort Analysis (TM52/59), natural ventilation studies and daylighting.
4. Undertaking & overseeing studies relating to BREEAM Credits including: thermal comfort, low and zero carbon technologies, reduction of emissions, predicted operational energy and daylighting.
5. Leading residential Part L assessments utilising accredited SAP software as part of large scale energy strategies.
6. Preparing Energy & Sustainability Statements for developments to complement planning submissions, coordinating contributions from different design team stakeholders.
7. Preparing high quality reports that clearly communicate the issues involved and the conclusions.
8. Supporting bidding for new opportunities including contributions to marketing material and attendance at interviews.
9. Undertaking domestic and/or non-domestic EPCs for new and existing buildings.
10. Leading change in new systems and technologies.
11. Mentoring and developing less experienced Engineers.
12. Traveling to client and project locations as required for meetings/surveys/training.
13. Ensuring the good name and reputation of EDC is maintained and promoted within the industry.
14. Liaising and collaborating with other EDC offices as appropriate.
Requirements
Degree level qualification in the built environment with proven 3+ performance in Sustainability.
Active Accreditation (LEED AP with Specialty/ BREEAM Assessor / WELL AP / HPI Assessor).
Basic technical knowledge across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, ecology) is required.
Ability to identify, manage and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Public speaking skills (industry conferences, meetings with internal global teams).
Familiarity with energy and environmental performance: conceptual energy modelling, daylight analysis, energy audits, renewable energy and rainwater harvesting systems, etc.
Experience with the management of team, resources, and time.
Package
Salary €55k - €65k depending on experience.
