Compliance Analyst About the job
The client Founded in 1987, The client has grown from an options trading firm on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange to one of the world's largest privately held financial institutions. Today, with offices around the world, we trade almost every major financial product, and we are recognised for our disciplined and quantitative trading approach, and our leading-edge trading systems. We established our European headquarters in Dublin 20 years ago and now employ over 600 people here in Trading, Technology, Research, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and HR.
The client trades a wide variety of products across all the major European Exchanges from its trading hub in Dublin. These include Equity Options and Futures, Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, Convertible Bonds, and Commodities.
You will be part of a compliance monitoring team that is responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance and other risks. Based on the trading floor, it involves working closely with traders and operations teams. Ideally, but not essential you will already have a good knowledge of the types of financial instruments traded by The client, and this is a superb opportunity for an individual to work within a true front office trading environment.
In the role you will:
1. Carry out monitoring in accordance with the risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme
2. Carry out second line real-time monitoring of the firm's algorithmic trading activity
3. Analyse compliance exception reports
4. Assist in ensuring that the firm complies with trading venue rules and relevant regulations e.g., MiFID II, EMIR, MAR
5. Ensure that the identities of new counterparties are being processed in accordance with the account opening and anti-money laundering procedures
6. Check that procedures are followed in relation to controls around automated trading systems used by The client
7. Ensure that procedures are followed in relation to trading and counterparty limits
8. Assist in completing themed reviews of different business areas.
What we're looking for:
9. Degree in business, preferably a finance or law related discipline
10. Compliance experience preferably in the financial sector would be advantageous
11. Compliance related qualification would be advantageous
12. Interest in financial markets and knowledge of financial instruments
13. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
14. Knowledge of Visual Basic / SQL would be advantageous
15. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
16. Ability to work well in a team
17. Strong communicator (verbal and written) - ability to convey subject matter in a clear and concise manner
18. Attention to detail - thorough in work carried out
19. Effective problem-solving skills - identifies problems and propose solutions
