Our client seeks a highly qualified and experienced Production Manager. This position will be a key member of a very proactive and focused Production Department where you will help ensure that all the key objectives and targets are achieved. The position will require a goal-oriented, highly determined, self-disciplined person with strong analytical, computer, and interpersonal skills.
Core Responsibilities:
1. The creation, implementation, monitoring, and achievement of the Master Build Schedule, with a strong focus on delivery performance, prescribed stock levels, quality, and productivity measures.
2. Oversee daily productivity, ensuring on-time delivery and cost-effective delivery of the production schedule.
3. Monitor, track, and improve daily, weekly, and quarterly production KPIs.
4. Manage a team of Cell Leaders/Supervisors ensuring that clear and concise directions are imparted and maintained.
5. Ensure quality metrics are achieved and quality standards are clear, understood, and maintained.
6. Actively manage projects to drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through the department, delivering year-on-year efficiency improvements.
7. Lead the function and direct reports to ensure a highly effective workforce aligned with company goals.
8. Manage development and training of the team to ensure employees are highly skilled and achieving their potential.
9. Communicate effectively across the department and across functions.
10. Ensure employees are informed, engaged, and clear on the company’s strategy, goals, and objectives.
11. Recruitment of Production Operators/Cell Leaders.
12. Set the operational plan for the department and manage effective delivery.
13. Manage and control to ensure company goals are achieved.
14. Interface with Design, Quality, Assembly & Testing, and Sales functions to ensure production lead times and quality standards are met.
15. Implementation of best practices in Health & Safety compliance.
16. Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.
Interested applicants should have:
1. Proven experience in operating a successful Production Department responsible for production planning, quality, personnel, costs, and all outputs from a modern cellular manufacturing facility.
2. At least 3-5 years hands-on experience in a complex ERP/MRP environment, from creating plans to managing capacities and outputs.
3. Production management and performance evaluation experience.
4. Appropriate PC skills consistent with such a position such as Microsoft Access, Excel, etc.
5. Innovative/creative, flexible, able to multi-task, and have a “hands-on” approach.
6. HR practices, good judgment, and decision-making skills, able to deal with employees on a one-to-one basis.
7. Ability to operate within a multi-disciplinary team of Managers responsible for Facilities, Purchasing, Materials, Finance, Engineering, and Design-related issues both on-site and overseas.
8. Excellent organizational and leadership skills with high attention to detail.
9. Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
