Fantastic opportunity for an experiencedHealth and Safety Manager to join a high-tech manufacturing company inNewbridge that has significant investment and growth plans for theirhighly automated contract manufacturing site.
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the Health and Safety Manager will work closely with site management and teams to proactively identify and mitigate health and safety risks, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough and high-quality safety inspections across the site, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to safety standards.
2. Support senior site management in identifying and addressing safety concerns, and providing practical solutions to enhance workplace safety.
3. Participate in site H&S meetings with management and operational teams, lead risk reviews, and oversee incident investigations and reporting.
4. Deliver engaging toolbox talks for employees and managers, maintaining accurate records of all safety briefings.
5. Ensure safety notice boards and good catch data are up to date and effectively managed.
6. Oversee the site-specific safety statement, updating it in collaboration with the Head of Health and Safety.
7. Implement the H&S management system, coaching and guiding teams at all levels to meet regulatory, statutory, and internal health & safety requirements.
8. Conduct site-specific risk assessments and develop action plans to minimize risks for employees, visitors, and contractors.
9. Organize and lead safety campaigns to promote a strong safety culture across the site.
10. Maintain and manage all necessary Health & Safety documentation for internal activities, inspections, and compliance purposes.
11. Execute regular H&S inspection programs to ensure continuous compliance.
12. Lead the investigation of H&S incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
13. Collaborate with senior site management to uphold full compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and site-specific requirements.
14. Monitor and ensure adherence to safety procedures and standards across all operations.
15. Track and report on key H&S metrics, incidents, non-compliances, and improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements:
1. Diploma-qualified in Health & Safety or equivalent (NEBOSH, QQI, or similar).
2. Technical member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or an equivalent professional body.
3. A minimum of 3 years experience in a Health & Safety Supervisor or Management role.
4. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health and safety management systems, processes, and fostering a positive safety culture.
5. Ability to deliver effective health and safety training to all levels within the organization.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Hands-on, proactive, and highly motivated approach.
8. Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative and partnership-driven mindset.
