About the Role
To support the Track Section Manager, this role involves conducting asset condition assessments of all track componentry within the Permanent Way.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting critical data through detailed surveys of track assets, scoring the data using standardized condition-based rules, identifying track defects, and prioritizing them against established timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collecting and analyzing data from track asset surveys
* Scoring data using condition-based rules
* Identifying and prioritizing track defects
* Using current and future technologies to support the Department as an asset owner
This role requires the ability to interpret and work with engineering standards, as well as experience in asset condition inspection, workload prioritization, and technical specification.
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:
* A minimum of a Degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering, construction, or asset management discipline, with at least 3 years' experience in Permanent Way asset data collection, classification, or defects and condition reporting
* A minimum of a Level 4 Qualification in a relevant subject, with at least 5 years' experience in Permanent Way asset data collection, classification of defects, and condition reporting
* Experience in using digital technology to collect asset data
* Experience in defect classification and condition scoring of assets
* Experience in managing teams to deliver specific business objectives
* A full driving license and access to a vehicle
