Overview About the Global Strategy Organization: Across PepsiCo, we continue to build new capabilities and expand into new beverages that will be critical to achieving long-term, sustainable growth.
A critical part of this strategy is to expand our portfolio and International footprint to enable the organization to realize new and diverse opportunities.
However, given the global complexities, it is critical that as an organization we are highly strategic regarding our decisions and evaluate complex and divergent data points to ensure we optimize our actions and course correct when necessary.
About the Role: The VP, Global Beverage Strategy will play a critical part in connecting and integrating the beverage teams across PepsiCo's different operating units to define long term growth strategy for global markets, driving shareholder value and making thoughtful recommendations across total portfolio and markets.
The role will also be a part of the new Global Beverage leadership team based in Dublin, Ireland and will be responsible for building local capabilities and culture, while leveraging existing PepsiCo practices.
The VP, Global Beverage Strategy will report into the EVP, International Beverages and matrix into the global strategy team.
Responsibilities Create and implement breakthrough strategies and identify business priorities and initiatives that will accelerate profitable growth and market share gains for PepsiCo.
Create and influence the beverage organization to implement business strategies aligned with the identified organization priorities.
The leader must be able to map out the growth 'journey' with precision, including tradeoff decisions, make/buy options, white space opportunities, new distribution vehicles, etc.
In addition, the VP will act as a responsive partner, solving "real time" issues or opportunities as they arise.
Articulate the vision and define the roadmap to create a unique competitive advantage for PepsiCo through a globally, cross functional, end to end integrated solution.
Articulate a clear and successful understanding of the varied consumer needs and expectations in priority international markets to identify new growth terrains.
Create a trusting relationship with both beverage category leaders and sector leaders that enables the individual to successfully elevate the current thinking to drive global solutions to maximize innovation plans.
Identify business development and white space opportunities to support business growth and optimization across PepsiCo to include organic growth transformative strategy leadership, such as incubation, cost improvement and new business models.
Provide a clear articulation and scenario planning for potential regulatory actions negatively impacting core and emerging businesses and work with the local teams to develop a contingency plan Maintain a strong consumer packaged goods and retail industry network, and thus a broad view of the entire portfolio, to ensure PepsiCo has a clear competitive advantage and to track competitive performance.
Advance the internal network and capabilities of the strategy function globally with clear prioritization of providing clarity on the career expectations for strategy talent globally.
Support and provide critical input to PepsiCo's corporate-wide strategic planning processes (long-term and annual), including analysis of the external environment and in partnership with the executive team.
Qualifications BA required (MBA strongly preferred) Highly analytical, motivated, decisive thought leader with experience in a leading strategy consulting firm, and/or leading the corporate strategy function for a major global company.
Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine question, and influence multiple decision makers.
Strong consumer packaged goods experience to be able to both identify and initiate appropriate partnership alliances and acquisitions.
Thought leader with a track record of developing and delivering high impact and successful consumer products strategies, with the context of a top tier strategic consulting firm or significant strategic planning experience in a corporate environment.
Track record of taking calculated risks for the long-term benefit of the organization.
Excellent communication skills with ability to educate and influence management and senior leaders to act in a desired manner through written and verbal communication.
Solid analytical and negotiating skills as evidence by high intelligence, strong financial and analytical capabilities and the proven ability to develop, sell and drive suitable partnerships, alliances, or other transactions to closure.
Global outlook with sensitivity and awareness of social and cultural differences.
Financial savvy and strong strategic agility with proven ability to develop, sell, and drive suitable partnership alliances, acquisitions, or other transactions to closure.
Strong track record of driving results in complex, multi-stakeholder, volatile, and uncertain environments.
Demonstrated record of developing and delivering high impact and successful consumer products strategies within the context of a top tier strategic consulting firm or significant strategic planning experience in a corporate environment.
Progressive thought leader with courage and resilience as evidenced by willingness to speak with truth and candor and develop alternate approaches to overcome obstacles.
Strong managerial experience with track record of identifying, attracting and developing highly motivated and successful analysts, consultants, or managers who have gone on to build records of success in their chosen field.
The person must be able to motivate staff and create a high-performance ethic among their subordinates, as well as their ability to succeed as a team.
In addition, this person must be able to demonstrate success in managing cross-functional teams, both directly and through influence, in complex, culturally diverse environments.
Strongly preferred experience in building a new organization, team, function or location from scratch – including hiring the best talent, building new capabilities, end establishing effective ways of working.
