We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Speech and Language Therapist, Clinical Specialist in Feeding, Eating Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS) to join our team in CHO 1 Cavan.
Contract Type: Permanent Full time
Salary Scale: €64,123 to €74,738 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments).
Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 days pro rata per annum.
Overview of the Post:
To provide a high standard Speech & Language therapy service to support primary therapists and service users & families in CHO 1 Cavan, including advanced and specialised work.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Use clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the Speech & Language Therapy team and other staff, while maintaining a clinical caseload.
2. Participate in ongoing audit and appropriate work-related research/evaluation projects.
3. Act as a positive and supportive team leader with strong leadership skills.
4. Apply advanced specialist knowledge and skills in Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS).
5. Act in an advanced clinical advisory role to colleagues.
6. Develop colleagues’ knowledge and skills through decision-making facilitation and collaborative client consultation.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc:
1. Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Speech & Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
2. 5 years full-time (or equivalent) post-qualification clinical experience, with 4 years in the required area of specialism.
3. Demonstrated record of clinical excellence in the specialism.
4. Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of specialism.
5. Demonstrated achievement in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching, and research.
6. Requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
7. Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapist Register maintained by CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
2. Annual Registration:
1. Maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register.
2. Confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
Additional requirements include:
1. Experience in a Senior Speech & Language Therapist role with extensive experience in FEDS.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Paediatric disability services for children with complex needs.
3. Valid driving licence for within the state/jurisdiction with access to own transport.
4. Experience and/or training in clinical supervision, group work, and staff supervision.
5. Experience in service development and practice standards development.
