Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and clients. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety within our organization. Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Management: Develop, implement, and manage health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements.
2. Training: Conduct safety training sessions for employees, ensuring they understand safety protocols and practices.
3. Inspections: Regularly inspect work sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
4. Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
5. Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and inspections, and prepare reports for management.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
2. Previous experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction or scaffolding industry.
3. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
